Wood windows

Bespoke wood windows

We design and make wooden windows for period and contemporary properties, from a single replacement to a complete house. Each window is made to measure in our own workshop near Huddersfield, then normally spray-finished and installed under our direction.

Because the work is bespoke, we can match the proportions and details of existing windows or develop something new. Frame profiles, mouldings, glazing bars, opening arrangements, hardware, glazing and colour can all be selected to suit the building.

Most of our timber windows are made from Accoya, chosen for its stability, durability and resistance to rot. We fit Low-E double glazing as standard and can work with stained-glass specialists where decorative glass needs to be incorporated into a sealed unit.

Choose a window style

Flush casement windows

The opening sash sits flush within the outer frame, giving the window a balanced, traditional appearance. This style is often well suited to period properties, conservation work and designs intended to match original joinery.

Storm-proof windows

The opening sash overlaps the face of the frame. This provides additional weathering at the joint and creates a slightly more pronounced external profile than a flush casement.

Sliding sash windows

Vertical sliding sash windows retain the familiar proportions and movement associated with traditional British buildings. We can reproduce details such as glazing bars, horns and mouldings to suit the property.

Tilt-and-turn windows

Tilt-and-turn windows can tilt inwards for ventilation or open further inwards for access and cleaning. They are useful where practical operation and modern performance are priorities.

Made for the property

The right window is not simply a choice between four labels. We consider the building, existing joinery, appearance, ventilation, access, exposure and any planning or conservation requirements before helping you settle on a design.
